BURN SEASON - PERMITS
 Burn permits required till Nov 1. After no permit necessary but you must monitor your burn piles. If the fire were to escape your control and burn the property of someone else, you could face criminal and civil liability. CALL 621-5897 to be sure it is a burn day - The Air Pollution Control District still controls whether or not you can burn. Make sure you have your burn permit on site between May through November.

Garden Valley Fire District - 333-1240, Marshall Rd., Bob Woods, Chief. Services primarily structure, vehicle accidents, and provides medical aide. Assist CDF with Wild land Fires. Garden Valley has 2 brush trucks, one water tender, and a structure truck and medical squad truck.  Services Garden Valley, Greenwood & Kelsey -- also have 2 trucks at Greenwood and 2 trucks at Kelsey. (two Satellite stations)  (call 621-5897 for Burn Day status.)

Georgetown Fire District - 333-4111, (emergency only 621-6600)  6281 Main St., Georgetown, (call 621-5897 for Burn Day status.)  with a Satellite Station in Volcanoville (Georgetown).

(Cool/Pilot Hill) Fire Protection District, Part of El Dorado County Fire District Station 72, Cool, 885-1232, Chief Ron Cohn (at main off) Hwy 49, 7200 St. Florian Ct. Cool.

CDF, Calif. Dept of Forestry & Fire  - Protection covers Wild land Fires. Has two trucks. 333-4551

Fire Helpers - When there is a Fire on the Divide, here are organizations who are likely to come help in case of an emergency:
 
All volunteer firemen,
CDF, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, El Dorado County, El Dorado Hills, Georgetown,  Garden Valley, Rescue, Cameron Park, Latrobe, Mosquito and Diamond Springs-El Dorado often respond to the scene. Also, CHP, Bureau of Land Management, Sheriff's Department, Animal Control, Office of Emergency Services and California State Parks.
