| Where you Ride the Best Trails in the
United States, here in El Dorado County, |

Cool and nearby Pilot Hill are definitely two of the "coolest horsey places to live." Located in the country
with gobs of the best trails for riding and hiking --yet
conveniently close to Hwy 80 and the busier life of Auburn through
Sacramento. It is home to many horsey events and 3 horse clubs with
the largest of its staging areas behind the firehouse, the Olmstead
Loop (and walking
distance to get a bite to eat while keeping a close eye on your
horse in the distance tied up along your horse trailer). Cool is one
of the final crossings for the famous 100 mile endurance horse race,
the Tevis Cup, and on the Western States Trail. It is home to the
noted horsey community,
Auburn Lake
Trails, NATRC rides and close
to 1,400 Ac
Cronin Ranch along the River and an old Movie Set. They
are Below the snow at about 1700 feet
elevation, and nestled between scenic rolling hills and near the
beautiful American River.
In 2007 was the year for the grand opening of new almost up-scale food
market
along with new construction for its bank and other coming
businesses. (continued).Located Just minutes from Auburn off
scenic Hwy
49 and Hwy 193.

Downtown
Cool is growing up with a new fancy local market with recent expansion
adding
new shops and services. This will supplement the already growing
community businesses consisting of
a bank, feed store, beauty shop, dentist and other local services. |
New Holiday Market at
corner of Hwy 49 and Hwy 193 in downtown Cool. Featuring a great deli
with lots of variety of tasty take-home items. Lots of fresh veggies and
fruits and a large mean and dairy section. Coming soon space on either
side for new businesses. |

These trails
are part of the 27,000 acres of the Auburn State Recreational District.
With about 25 miles of gentle trails connecting across Hwy 49 to the
Western States Trail, where the Tevis Cup is run each August. . |
